CLAYTON GELNETT, 86, RR1 LIVERPOOL
Store owner, Twp supervisor
LIVERPOOL - Clayton Barner Gelnett, 86, of RR1 Liverpool died at
5:15 a.m. Friday, March 1, 1996, at Polyclinic Medical Center,
Harrisburg. Mr. Gelnett had been a patient since Feb. 20.
Mr. Gelnett was born Nov. 2, 1909, in Liverpool Twp, a son of
the late Milton and Gertrude "Pearl" (Barner) Gelnett. Mr. Gelnett
married Ruth Minerva Kauffman on Sept. 21, 1934.
Mr. Gelnett attended Barner's School at Liverpool.
Mr. Gelnett owned and operated Gelnett Store in Liverpool for 30
years. Mr. Gelnett was a Liverpool Twp supervisor for eight
years.
Mr. Gelnett was a member of Barners (St. John's) Lutheran Church,
RR1 Liverpool; the American Association of Retired Persons; and the
Liverpool Fire Company and Ambulance League.
Mr. Gelnett enjoyed hunting.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a son, Robert C. of RR1
Liverpool; three sisters, Mildred O. Witmer of RR1 Liverpool, Ardella
M. Cauffman of RR2 Millerstown and Gertrude Marie Shirk of
Selinsgrove; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.
A brother, Bruce, died in infancy.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Barners (St.
John's) Lutheran Church, RR1 Liverpool, by the Rev. Robert Butts.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the George P. Garman
Funeral Home, 606 N. Front St., Liverpool.
