Miller L. Stamm, 103, of Loganton, died on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 in th
e Lock Haven Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born Aug. 4, 1909 in Loganton, he was the son of Cyrus and Myrtle (Mil
ler) Stamm.
Miller graduated from the former Sugar Valley High School in 1928. H
e was one of six students.
In 1935, he married the former Delphia Guisewite, who preceded him i
death in 1995.
Miller was a member of Albright United Methodist Church, Loganton. H
e was also a member of the Sugar Valley Volunteer Fire Co. No. 13.
His passion for cars led him to a lifetime career as a certified mecha
ical technician. After many years of service, he retired from Royer'
s garage in Loganton. He continued to make daily visits to the garag
e after it was purchased by Earl Weaver to pass on his knowledge and v
isit with friends.
Miller loved life and especially loved his family. He thoroughly love
d his daily visits from his dear friend, Bob Diehl.
He is survived by two daughters, Dorothy E. Ruhl of Indiana, Pa. and N
orma A. Miller of Lamar; five grandchildren, Ronald Ruhl, Michael Ruhl
, Jeffrey Ruhl, Leslie Powers and Paula Gallagher; 11 great-grandchild
en, four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his five siblin
gs, David, Celia, Armina, Wilda and Arlene.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at 11 a.m
. in Albright United Methodist Church, 47 E. Main St., Loganton. Pasto
Brenda Mitchell will officiate. A visitation will be held in the chu
ch on Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. and also on Thursday, one h
our prior to the service. Final interment will be held in Fairview Cem
etery, Loganton.
Please omit flowers; if desired, memorials may be made in Miller's nam
e to his church.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home
, Inc., 95 E. Main St., Loganton.
