Kyle Monty Strouse, 14, of Centre Hall
Kyle Monty Strouse, 14, of Centre Hall, died Dec. 26, 2002, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Mahoning Twp, Montour Co, PA in Danville.
Born Feb. 8, 1988, in Govenor, N.Y., he was a son of Douglas R. Strouse, of Centre Hall, and Nevins Luscom Strouse.
He was a ninth-grade student at Penns Valley Area High School, where he played on the varsity soccer team, and was active in band, chorus, the drama club and the young life club.
He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Centre Hall, where he was active in the youth group and served in a leadership position in children's and youth activities, including Vacation Bible School. He served as an acolyte and as an assistant Sunday School teacher. He also was active in the Logos program.
He began playing soccer at age 4 and also played Little League baseball. He especially enjoyed talking, playing practical jokes and drawing. He also enjoyed fishing, playing computer games and playing the saxophone.
He was a member of the Centre Hall 4-H program, showing swine and goats at the Grange Fair. He was a member of the Centre County 4-H Goatee Club and the Penns Valley 4-H Rams, where he was involved in Rocket Club, building rockets, and woodworking, having made a clock as one of his projects, and tie-dyeing activities.
He worked part-time during the Grange Fair at Luse's Market on the fairgrounds.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Monty and Patricia Sharer Strouse, of Centre Hall, with whom he resided; his paternal great-grandmothers, F. Evelyn Sharer, of Centre Hall, and Jean Strouse, of Lamar; a half sister, Kacandra Dawn-Marie Strouse, of State College; a brother, Kelly Ray Strouse, at home; an aunt Sherri and her husband, Terry Corl; an uncle Kenneth and his wife, Melissa Strouse; as well as several great aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke's Luthera Church, 301 N. PA Ave., Centre Hall.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, also at the chuch, with the Rev. Russell L. Sauerwein officiating.
Burial will be in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, Centre Hall.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Service, 226 S. PA Ave., Centre Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the youth group at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, P.O.
