Craig A. "Stretch" Bower, 52, of 116 Wylie St., Jersey Shore, went t
o be with his Lord and Savior Thursday morning, March 14, 2013 at hi
s home, with his loving family by his side, after a brief and intens
e illness. Born May 21, 1960 in Jersey Shore, he was the son of Paul E
. "Peanut" Bower Sr. and the former M. June Tyson.
Craig is survived by his wife, the former Denise "Dennie" C. Chambers
. For many years he was the owner of Crystal Beverage in Jersey Shore.
He was a 1978 graduate of the Jersey Shore High School and was a lifet
ime member of the First United Methodist Church in Jersey Shore.
Craig had a passion for hunting, the outdoors, and World War II histor
y. He was a life member of the Jersey Shore Elks No. 1057, Jersey Shor
e Moose Family Center No. 214, Jersey Shore American Legion and the Je
sey Shore V.F.W. Billy O. Brandt Post No. 5859. Also surviving is hi
s loving daughter Vanessa A. Bower of Boston, Mass.; a brother Paul E
. (Dianne) Bower Jr. of Avis; a sister Cinde L. (Dore) Bower- Stout o
f Oval; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, his many wonderf
ul loving friends and his loyal canine companions, "Tsar" and "Gracie.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 18, 2013, at 6 p.m. in the Firs
t United Methodist Church, 236 S. Main St., Jersey Shore. Certified La
y Minister Becky Cuddeback his pastor will officiate. Friends may cal
l from 3 p.m. Monday until time of services in the church. Burial wil
l be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in his name to th
e First United Methodist Church in Jersey Shore or to the Susquehann
a Home Care & Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport Pa. 17701.
Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, is i
charge of arrangements.
