William Luther Lyter
MIFFLINTOWN - William Luther Lyter, 81, formerly of Harrisburg, died F
iday
morning, Dec. 20, 1996, at the Brookline Manor Nursing Home, Mifflinto
wn RR1,
where he resided for the past four years.
Born in Port Royal, he was a son of the late George C. and Lottie (Erl
enmeyer)
Lyter.
His stepmother, Margaret (Frankhouse) Lyter, who adopted him, survive
s at the
Brookline Retirement Village, Mifflintown RR1.
Also surviving are a stepbrother, Richard A. Beaver, Winter Haven, Fla
., and a
stepsister, Eleanor Hertzler, Port Royal.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Lyter.
A 1933 graduate of Montoursville High School and 1937 graduate of Pen
State,
he served in World War II in the U.S. Army.
He worked as a supervisor for the Commonwealth of PA, Harrisburg,
etiring after many years of service.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Harrisburg.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #27, Harrisburg, for 58 ye
ars.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the George P. Garman Funera
l Home,
606 N. Front St., Liverpool, with the Rev. Ray Hatcher officiating. I
terment
of ashes will be private in the Banners (sic)* Church Cemetery, Liverp
ool RR1.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
