Connie Barner
HAVANA -- Connie Lou Barner, 55, of 22758 N. County Road East, Havan
a IL died at 10:20 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at OSF Saint Francis Med
ical Center in Peoria, IL.
Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home i
Havana. The Rev. Duane Turley will officiate. Burial will be in Laur
el Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services at the fun
eral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the educational fund for her dau
ghter, Taunja Barner, c/o The Havana National Bank.
She was born Sept. 5, 1948, in Illinois to Bill and Marjorie Humphre
y Zeltner. She married Ira Barner on Jan. 11, 1979, in Havana.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Shelby (Mary) Thompson of Bat
h and Clinton (Amber) Barner of Lone Rock, Wis.; three stepsons, Ira D
ean Barner of Foley, Minn., David (Lisa) Barner of Eldon, Mo., and Cha
d Barner of Minier; two daughters, Shannon (John) Lynn of Havana and T
aunja Barner, at home; nine grandchildren; two brothers, John (Cathy
) Zeltner of Kingston Mines and Bill Zeltner of Foley, Minn.; and on
e sister, Rhonda (Wayne) Riley of Paducah, Ky.
She was preceded in death by one sister and one stepdaughter, Irene Ba
er.
Barner, a homemaker, was a member of Chautaqua-Goofy Ridge Sportsman'
s Club, Topeka. She was an avid game show fan

Connie Lou Zeltner was born Sept.5, 1948, in Illinois, a daughtr of Bi
ll and Marjorie Humphrey Zeltner. She married Ira Barner on Jan. 11, 1
979, in Havana. He survives.
Surviving are two sons, Shelby (Mary) Thompson and Clington (Amber); t
hree stepsons, Ira Dean, David (Lisa) and Chad; two daughters, Shanno
(John) Lynn and Taunja Barner; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Joh
(Cathy)and Bill; one sister, Rhonda Riley.
She was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Irene Elaine and one si
ster.
