Sunnyside Cemetery - Long Beach

Tree: Adam Barner

Notes:
Cemetery opened September 26th, 1906 and has 16,250 burials in 13 1/2 acres of land. It is essentially full with only one or two burials per year since 2010. Sunnyside has lawn burials only; it does not have mausoleum or columbarium space of any kind. It is on the south side of Signal Hill on Willow Street and adjacent to the separate Long Beach Municipal Cemetry.

In December 2015, a photo survey of Sunnyside was completed and photos of all legible markers posted on Find A Grave. Sunnyside Cemetery is frequently confused with Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Long Beach), which was previously (prior to 1978) named Sunnyside Memorial Park and which contains the large, 3 story Sunnyside Mausoleum and Sunnyside Crematory. They are separate cemeteries about 4 miles apart.
