    Lonnie Lee Ludvigson, 48, died January 9th, 2016, in Memphis, Tennessee. Lonnie was born March 2, 1967 in Mason City, Iowa to Casper and Donna (Parks) Ludvigson.

    Lonnie graduated from Edgewood Colesburg School in 1986. He joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Alabama for two years. He then attended the University of Iowa while serving in the National Guard. He served in Desert Storm in Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait as part of a medical unit.

    Lonnie had a passion for teaching people about health and wellness and practiced massage therapy for many years. He attended medical school on the Caribbean Island of Saba for one year and a Chicago medical school for one year before being diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Though the prognosis was grim, Lonnie was a 12 year cancer survivor. Lonnie was trucking for the internet site, U-Ship, at the time of his death from a robbery attempt.

    He is survived by his mother, Donna Ludvigson of Edgewood Iowa, a sister Lorrie Jo, of Buda, Texas; a brother Jeremy Ludvigson of Salt Lake City, Utah; niece and nephews Haley Henry, Haluk Ludvigson and Keiran Rogers and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

    He was preceded in death by his father, Casper Ludvigson Jr. of Edgewood Iowa, paternal and maternal grandparents, Casper Sr. and Margie (Snider) Ludvigson and Victor and Helen (Vierkant) Parks of Rockwell, Iowa.

    Visitation will be at Leonard Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood on Sunday, January 17th from 3:00-6:00pm and memorial services will be at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Monday, January 18th at 10:30am in Edgewood, Iowa.
