LANDISVILLE - Mary Faith Wieder, 87, of Landisville, formerly of Lewis
town and Juniata Co, died at 9:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at Th
e Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster. Born July 9, 1913, i
Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Elmer Newton and Blanche (
Basom) Barner. Her husband, Harry Monroe Wieder, whom she married Oct
. 21, 1934, survives. Also surviving are: children, Clarence M. Wieder
, Leola, Mrs. James R. (Linda E.) Clark, York, and Mrs. Richard E. (Ja
et L.) Neville, Denver; brothers, E. Palmer Barner, Enola and Rev. Ch
arles W. Barner, Lewistown; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson
. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, J. Malvern Barner
, Victor W. Barner, Herman W. Barner, Robert E. Barner, Bertha N. Book
, Almeda H. Aumiller and A. Grace Fogle on Jan. 22, 2001. She was empl
oyed for 18 years by the Hempfield School District in the cafeteria o
f the Landisville Elementary School, retiring in June 1979. She wa
s a member of the Senior Choir of the Grace Evangelical Congregationa
l Church, East Petersburg and served as a Sunday school teacher for 3
7 years. She was also a member of the Women of Grace and the Women's M
issionary Society of the church; a member of the auxiliary of the Lanc
aster General Hospital for over 50 years; and a member of the Farm Wom
en No. 10, Lancaster. She enjoyed reading her Bible and was an accompl
ished cook and baker. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at th
e George P. Garman Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant Mills, with the Rev. A
bram E. Rhoads officiating. Interment will be in the Richfield Union C
emetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at The Brethren Village Cha
pel, Lancaster and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesda
