Henry W. Hauser Jr., 83, and B. Colleen Hauser, 78, both of Antes Fort
, recently passed away following lengthy illnesses.
Henry passed away Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007 in the Williamsport Hospital.
Colleen passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007 at her home.
They were married Dec. 23, 1960.
Born July 23, 1923 in Antes Fort, Henry was the son of Henry W. Sr. an
d Lydia Kreitz Hauser.
Colleen was born March 31, 1928 in Red Lion, and was the daughter of R
. Bruce and Blanche Viola Flaharty Poet.
They were both members of the St. John Evangelical Church.
Henry was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and served with the 5th Inf
antry 50th Field artillery unit in campaigns in Normandy, Ardennes For
est, France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was awarded the Silver S
tar as a radio operator with the Forward Observation party in the Batt
le of the Bulge and later a Bronze Star.
He reitred from Alcan Cable in 1985, where he was awarded a patent fo
a cable-coating extruder head system. He once owned and operated Hau
ser TV Cable that served the Antes Fort, Salladasburg and Cogan Hous
e areas.
He served as Nippenose Twp Supervisor for 30 years and also served a
s superintendent of the Antes Fort Village Park, home of the Henry W
. Hauser Jr. Softball Complex, named in his honor.
Colleen was a one-time member of the Business and Professional Women o
f Jersey Shore and was a member of the Antes Fort Recreational committ
ee. She worked for many years as a clerk at Cohick Paint and Supply, f
ormerly of Williamsport.
Surviving Henry and Colleen are two daughters, Dawn M. Hauser and Virg
inia “Ginger” C. Maffett; a son, R. Stanton “Stan” Breon Jr.; 10 grand
children and 13 great-grandchildren.
Henry is survived by two brothers, Melvin L. “Bud” Hauser of English C
enter and Frederic J. Hauser of Linden; and was predeceased by two bro
thers, Jack K. and Alfred L. Hauser, and a sister, Esther Hauser.
Colleen is survived by a brother, Richard B. “Dick” Poet of Red Lion.
Friends and relatives may call at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home

Center, passed away early Wednesday evening,
August 4, 2010 at the Highlands Care
Center in Laporte. He was born August 26,
1929, in Nippenose Twp, a son of
Henry W. and Lydia Kreitz Hauser Sr. Bud
was a 1947 graduate of Jersey Shore High
School and married the former Victoria
Homler in June of 1947. He was a U.S.
Army Veteran. Bud and his wife operated
the former Panther Restaurant in English
Center and he retired from Alcan Cable
after 35 years of employment. His survivors
include his children, Janet Barnhart of Jersey
Shore, Kimberly Myers of Antes Fort
and Melvin L. "Buddy" Hauser Jr. of Trout
Run; one brother, Frederic J. Hauser of
Linden, along with 11 grandchildren, 12
great-grandchildren and one great-great
grandson. Also survived by a special
friend, Mary Jane Ross of Salladasburg.
He was predeceased by his wife and a
daughter, Kathy Hauser Decker, in 1980
and brothers, Jack, Alfred and Henry Jr.
Services will be held at noon Monday,
August 9, 2010 at the Rearick-Carpenter

. Born Feb. 26, 1931 in Collomsville, he was the son of the late Henr
y Sr. and Lydia Kreitz Hauser. Al and his wife Henrietta Speary celebr
ated their 54th wedding anniversary on April 4, 2004. Al was a graduat
e of the 1949 class of Jersey Shore Area High School and in his senio
year, he was captain of the football team. He enjoyed attending ever
y class reunion. He also attended Williamsport Technical Institute, Ly
coming College, Lock Haven State University and received his B.S. fro
m Elizabethtown College in 1977 in vocational education. He received h
is masters equivalency from Pennsylvania State University in 1980. A
l retired from the Pennsylvania College of Technology in 1992 after 2
9 years as a faculty member and administrator, including assistant pro
fessor and coordinator of the vocational education program, assistan
t dean of vocational education and assistant professor of machine too
l technology. He contributed significantly in the development and lead
ership of the secondary program and was instrumental in the developmen
t of the current Advanced Technology Center and world class Automate
d Manufacturing Laboratory in 1985. One of Al's proudest moments was w
hen he received the Excellence in Teaching Award from Penn College i
1989. Al served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Wa
from 1951 through 1955 in the Strategic Air Command, Hunter Air Forc
e Base, Savannah, Ga. Prior to Al's cancer diagnosis, he was blessed w
ith good health and enjoyed many years of retirement. He and his wif
e Hensy enjoyed traveling with friends and family, including trips t
o Hawaii, the Panama Canal and RV-ing throughout the United States. Th
ey enjoyed their winters on Sunshine Key, Fla., with many friends the
y met throughout the United States and Canada. While in the Keys, Al e
joyed golfing, fishing, bike riding, competing in horseshoe tournamen
ts, happy hours and fish fries. Al was a member of the Trinity Unite
d Methodist Church, Jersey Shore, LaBelle Masonic Lodge and the Korea

She was born in Jersey Shore, April 4, 1929, a daughter of Ernest L. a
d Eva Mae Fulkrod Kreitz Sr. She was a Jersey Shore High School gradu
ate and married Ralph A. Thomas Jr., who passed away June 2, 1986. Sh

, Jersey Shore. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her g
andchildren and great-grandchildren.

Broad St., Jersey Shore, passed away surrounded
by his loving family on Sunday,
Sept. 26, 2010, in the Williamsport Regional
Medical Center following a brief
illness. He was born Nov. 24, 1931, a son
of Ernest L. and Eva Mae Fulkrod Kreitz
Sr. He was a 1950 graduate of Jersey
Shore High School. He entered the U. S.
Air Force in 1950. Ernie married his high
school sweetheart Marian L. Miller on
Aug. 27, 1955 at the Evangelical United
Brethren Church in Avis. This past August
they celebrated their 55th wedding
anniversary. He was a lifelong member of
the St. John Lutheran Church of Jersey
Shore. Ernie was employed by Hammermill
Paper Co. in Lock Haven, retiring in
1982. Besides his wife Marian, he is survived
by his children, Karen Chianelli of
Montoursville, Sherrill (Robert) Reynolds
of Muncy and Steve Kreitz and his companion
Kim Garlick of Woolrich; his five
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
two step great-grandchildren; and his sister,
Edna Thomas of Jersey Shore. He was
predeceased by his parents and a brother,
Donald Kreitz. Services will be held at 11
a.m Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 at the Rearick
-Carpenter Funeral Home, Jersey Shore.
Interment will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery.

She was born December 13, 1947 in Renovo a daughter of the late Charle
s W. Maxwell, Sr. and Mildred L. (White).
Janice worked at the former Maxwell Furniture Store, Renovo as a secre
tary retiring in 2004.
She was a 1965 graduate of St. Joseph High School and a member of St
. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed her family and spending time wit
h her grandchildren. Janice adored her yellow Labrador “Dozer.”
She is survived by her husband Michael L., four sons Michael T. (Diane
) Coleman, Steven M. Coleman, Timothy M. Coleman and Jason A. (Pauline
) Coleman and a daughter Brenda L. (Michael) Hand all of Renovo. Nin
e grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Two brothers Charles W. M
