John B. Myers, 88, of 50 N. Fairview St., Lock Haven, Clinton Co, PA.
, passed away April 11, 2008 at his residence.

He was born June 10, 1919 in Lock Haven and was the son of the late Jo
hn and Maude Barner Myers.

John was a 1937 graduate of the Lock Haven High School and a 1941 grad
uate of the Lock Haven University. He was a veteran of WWII having ser
ved in the 17th Airborne Division.

Mr. Myers had taught briefly at the Avis High School. He then went t
o work for PP&L where he served as credit supervisor for the Montoursv
ille facility, retiring in 1982. John had been an active member of th
e Hope Hose Fire Company, Lock Haven BPOE Elks and a former member o
f the Lions Club, as well as several other community organizations. H
e enjoyed his Saturday morning coffee klatsch group.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Helen Hennessey My
ers who passed away May of 2006. He was also preceded in death by a si
ster, Vivian Englert.

Surviving is a daughter, Kathleen (Cass) of Lock Haven, a son, Michae
l and his partner Peter Cerra of Hamilton, New Jersey. Also survivin
g is his sister in law Ana Ruth Hennessey of Lock Haven and several ne
phews, cousins, as well as a very caring circle of friends and neighbo
s.

Funeral services for John B. Meyers will be held on Tuesday, April 15
, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home.

Officiating will be Father Daniel J. O’Neill of the Immaculate Concept
ion Catholic Church. Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Ceme
tery with full military honors.

Family and friends will be received in the funeral home Monday evenin
g from 5 to 8 p.m.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted t
o the Clinton Co. SPCA, the Lock Haven Catholic Church Fund or the Hop
e Hose Fire Co, through the funeral home.
