Elaine M. Barner Obituary
Elaine M. Sabol Barner, age 85, of Lake City, passed away unexpectedly
, on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Millcreek Community Hospital.

She was born in Girard, on May 2, 1932, daughter of Andrew and Anna Ev
ans Sabol.

She was a LPN at Pleasant Ridge many years ago. She loved farming, wor
king with her family at Barner's Farm Market and working the Farmer'
s Market at the West Erie Plaza. She had been a member of St. John's C
atholic Church in Girard. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and gardening
. She loved all her pets of all kinds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband o
f 38 years, C. Clifford Barner in 1994; six sisters: Marian, Margaret
, Agnes, Ann, Julia, and Ethel; and four brothers: Albert, Frank, Rudy
, and Andy.

She is survived by two sons: Dean Barner and his wife Marie of Erie an
d Kenneth Barner and his wife Lisa of Cranesville; a daughter, Linda G
ulics and her husband Michael of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three sisters-
in-law: Lorane Barner of Saegertown, and Jean and Betty Sabol, both o
f Girard; seven grandchildren: Faith, Hope, Rex, Sara, Hannah, Haley
, and Hannah; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street, East, on Thu
sday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a servic
e there on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Ferrick celebrant.

Burial will be private at St. John's Cemetery, Girard.

Rex W. Barner has joined the U.S. Navy. He will report for duty at the Navy's Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.

Barner, a 2008 graduate of Northwestern High School, is the son of Sheyl Barner, of Girard, and Kenneth Barner, of Cranesville.
