LIVERPOOL - Helen M. Mitchell, 90, of 104 N. Market St., died Wednesda
y in
Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
She had worked in the dietary department of the former Good Samarita
Nursing
Home; attended Perry County rural schools; and was a member of St. Joh

(Barners) Lutheran Church, Liverpool RR 1, the Liverpool Ambulance Lea
gue and
the Liverpool Senior Citizens.
She was the widow of Charles L. Mitchell. Surviving are a son, Richar
d L. of
Liverpool RR 1; a daughter, Mary Ann Lauver of York; and five grandchi
ldren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in her church. Burial wil
l be in
the church cemetery.
Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the church.
Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, is handling arrangements.

ALBERT L. BARNER

MILLERSTOWN-Albert L. Barner, 74, Millerstown RD2, Perry Co,
died this morning at his home. He had been in reclining health for
the past year and hospitalized on several occasions during that
period.
Born Oct. 27, 1911, at Millerstown RD2, Perry Co, he was a son
of the late Charles P. and Annie (Spicher) Barner. In 1935, he
married the former A. Pauline Goodling,
The couple lived in the area all their married life where they
farmed, retiring in 1973.
Mr. Barner was a member of Barner's Lutheran Church, Liverpool RD1,
and Liverpool Fire Company; and a member and director of Barner's
Cemetery Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Misses
Shirley J. and June L., both at home, and Mrs. Carol Hoffman of
Richfield RD1; a granddaughter; and a sister, Mrs. Helen Mitchell of
Liverpool. A daughter, Geraldine, died in 1936.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Barner's
Lutheran Church, Liverpool RD1, by the Rev. Rodney Lilley. Burial
will be in Barner's (Saint John's) Lutheran Church Cemetery Liverpoo
l RD 1, Perry Co, PA, Liverpool RD1.
Visitors may call at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool,
Wednesday evening and at the church Thursday from 9 a.m. until the
time of the service.

Millerstown, PA

June L. Barner, 82, of Liverpool Township, Millerstown, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 26, 2021, at her home.

She was born on June 29, 1939, a daughter of the late Albert L. Barner and Alma “Pauline” (Goodling) Barner.

June was a graduate of Greenwood Joint High School. She retired in 1999 with 43 years of service from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of State Professional Licensing office in Harrisburg. June was a choir member of St. John (Barner’s) Lutheran Church. Her greatest enjoyment was attending yard sales and was fabulous at gardening and yard work.

She is survived by her sisters Shirley J. Barner at home, Carol M. Hoffman and her husband, Lawrence, of Evandale, and Karen “Suzy” Stahr and her husband, Wade, of Evandale; and a great nephew, Nicholas Stahr and his fiance’, Joelle Henry.

June is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Geraldine Barner, at birth.

A viewing will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at St. John (Barner’s) Lutheran Church, 5 Barner Road, Liverpool, PA 17045. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at St. John (Barner’s) Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions in loving memory of June be made to St. John (Barner’s) Lutheran Church, 5 Barner Road, Liverpool, PA 17045.
