Jean E. Keiler

Jean E. Keiler, 85, of Jersey Shore, died Thursday, April 11, 2002, a
t Manor Care Jersey
Shore, where she had been a guest since Fall, 2000.
She was born March 6, 1917, in Jersey Shore, a daughter of John H. an
d Mary Barner Furl.
She was a 1935 Graduate of Jersey Shore High School and received an LP
N degree from the
former Williamsport Tech.
She was married in Sept., 1937, to Kenneth E. Keiler, who died Aug. 21
, 1985.
She was a nurse at the Jersey Shore Hospital and also a private duty n
urse.
Jean was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, where she had tau
ght children's
Sunday School. She was a Past Matron of the Ivanhoe Chapter of the Ord
er of the Eastern Star,
a member of the White Shrine, Antes Fort Chapter of DAR and a voluntee
of the American Red
Cross. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading.
She is survived by a daughter, Peggy A. Welshans of Jersey Shore; thre
e grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Jean Katov in Feb., 1989.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John's Lutheran Churc
h Chapel with her pastor,
Rev. Kerry Aucker, officiating. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cem
etery.
Friends may call at the church from 10-11 a.m. Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 22

Mary Lou Boatman
Mary Lou Boatman, 77, of Allentown, died Aug. 15 in her home.
She was the wife of Clair E. Boatman. They observed their 58th weddin
g anniversary on March 1.
Born in Jersey Shore, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Mar
y E. (Barner) Furl.
She was a member of Hope United Church of Christ in Allentown. She wa
s also a member of the GMC Colonial Travelers and the Lehigh County Se
ior Citizens Center. She was a past member of the Phoebe Home Auxilia
y.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Cynthia, wife of William Kr
ause of Allentown; a sister, Leila Hiller of Jersey Shore; grandchildr
en Christopher Krause of Limington, Maine and Robin Hartman of Palm Ha
bor, Fla.; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20 in the church. Inte
ment will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be m
