Margaret Jane Reading

Margaret Jane Reading, 94, of Jersey Shore, passed away May 27, 2015
, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

She was the wife of Paul H. Reading who preceded her in death. Margare
t was born May 20, 1921, in Oval, Pa., the daughter of the late Guy F
. and Myrtle (Epler) Barner.

Margaret was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family and friend
s and loved the simple things in life. She liked cooking and canning
, photography, listening to the radio and the police scanner. Margare
t was a self-sufficient woman, making her own soaps and shampoo; she w
as a lifelong farmer and a hard worker who loved helping people.

Surviving are her sons, Orie Reading (Sandra) and Charles âRickã Readi
g (Vivian), all of Rauchtown; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandch
ildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in deat
h by two sisters, Lois Carstetter and Marie Eck; and three brothers, B
ill, Harry and Jake Barner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Margaret’s name to the ch
arity of choice.

Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
