Betty F. Weaver, 91, of Woolrich passed away Friday, June 2, 2017, a
t her residence at Heartland.

She was born Aug. 1, 1925, in Mill Hall, a daughter of Frank and Marga
et (Fleisher) Barner.

Betty was employed at Woolrich Woolen Mills, from which she retired af
ter 15 years.

She was a former member of Clinton Bowling Lanes.

Her survivors include two stepdaughters, Sandy Lannon (Gary) of Jerse
y Shore and Joann Butler of Avis, one step-son, Gary Beckenbaugh of Ja
cksonville, Fla.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson; two siste
s, Jean Strouse (Roy) of Clintondale and Gloria Thompson (Richard) o
f Bellefonte; and a brother Dale Barner of Glenrock.

Betty’s services will be held privately at the convenience of her fami

Donald A. Barner, 74, of Howard, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at Loc
k Haven Hospital.

Born Oct. 4, 1927, in Mill Hall, he was a son of the late Frank W. an
d Margaret M. Flasher Barner.

On Feb. 28, 1957, in Owensburg, Ky., he married Edith M. Price, who di
ed on March 14, 2000.

He was retired from the U.S. Army following 231/2 years of service a
s a sergeant first class. He was in Company C, 67th Signal Battalion
. He served during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

He is survived by four sisters, Jean Strouse and Alma Doreen Berans, b
oth of Mill Hall, Gloria Thompson, of Bellefonte, and Betty Weaver, o
f Jersey Shore, and two brothers, Earl Barner, of Alabama, and Dale Ba
er, of Glen Ridge.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death b
y a son, Robert S. Barner, who died on Aug. 27, 1992.

Visitation will be from 6 to
8 p.m. Tuesday at Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St. in Mi

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with th

Ruth attended the Salona schools and was a member of the Rote United M
ethodist Church.
She retired in 1993 after 23 years working at the Lock Haven Hospita
l as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Kae) Yarrison of Jarrettsville, M
d. and Gerald (Nancy) Yarrison of Parker, Colo.; three sisters, June W
elshans of Loganton, Jean Slaterbeck of Rote and Joyce (Lynn) Robinso
of Howard; two brothers, Donald Weaver of Rote and Allen (Joan) Weav

Ella Kay Weaver was born on Sunday, 2 April 1939 at Lamar Township, Cl
inton Co, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of John Edgar Weaver an
d Helen May Barner. Ella married Homer Albert Decker. She died on Sund
ay, 25 September 2016 at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 23 days aft
er a devastating fall down a full flight of stairs the first week of A
ugust while visiting her relatives in Rote, PA for the Weaver Family R
eunion. She was badly banged up, especially her head and her arm was b
oken so bad it had to be operated on at Geisinger Hospital. She was l
ater transferred to the Lock Haven Hospital [near her siblings] wher
e she remained. She seemed to be progressing but suddenly took a tur
for the worse and went into a coma like state. She never recovered a
d died at Susque-View Home, Lock Haven, Clinton Co, Pennsylvania. Sh
e was buried at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville, Cumberlan
d Co, North Carolina.

Philipsburg, Pennsylvania - Charles H. Hassinger, Jr., 68, 300 Front St., Philipsburg, PA, formerly of Bellefonte, PA died September 28, 2022 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College, PA. Born September 7, 1954 in Bellefonte, PA he was the son of the late Charles H. and Alma Barner Hassinger. Chuck was a 1972 graduate of the Bellefonte High School and had attended Williamsport Community College obtaining an Associates Degree in HAVC.
He had worked at Cerro Copper & Brass as a machinist, a carpenter for Barner & Kling and at Chem-Cut. Chuck was a social member of the Philipsburg American Legion and the Eagles. He had been attending the Bible Baptist Church, Philipsburg, PA.
Survivors: 2 sons, Timothy A. (Sarah) Hassinger, New York and Thomas Hassinger, FL.; 3 sisters, Jane (Denny) Tibbens and Mary J. (Ronald) Oswalt, both of Bellefonte, PA and Teresa (Jeff) Bartholomew, Williamsport, PA; 2 brothers, Steven E. and Donald A. Hassinger, both of Lewistown, PA; his former wives, Debra Wilson and Sandra Ingram.
A celebration of life will be held October 23, 2022 from 2-4 PM at the Bible Baptist Church, 226 N. Front St., Philipsburg, PA 16866.

t home on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, due to cancer. Born on February 26
, 1937, in Mill Hall, he was the son of the late William A. and Edna (
Weaver) Monk. He was a 1955 graduate of the former Sugar Valley High S
chool, Loganton. Gail and Charles were wed on June 11, 1955, and share
d over 59 years of marriage together. He was a veteran of the U.S. Arm
y stationed in Korea. His passion and life's work was in aviation, ear
ing a pilot's license in 1962, and serving many years throughout vari
ous local airports as an instructor, including Air Atlantic in Centr
e Hall, as well as at the Piper Airport in Lock Haven and finally reti
ing in 1999, after 13 years of service as the corporate pilot for Wei
s Markets, Sunbury. In retirement, Charles enjoyed attending and perio
dically hosting weekly card parties with the "Valley" men. Along wit
h his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kathie (David) Spotts; a son
, Charles (Patricia) Monk, Jr.; two sisters, Patricia (Donald) Mille
and Linda (James) Leonard, Jr.; three grandchildren; two step-grandc
hildren; six great grandchildren; and five step-great grandchildren. H
e was predeceased by a son, Brian E. Monk; and a sister, Beverly Boob
