Parepa L. Bierly November 9, 1919 November 21, 2016 Parepa L. Bierly
, 97, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2016 and went home to b
e with all her loved ones who are in heaven. Parepa's wishes were gran
ted that she be with her loving family at home when it was time for he
to say goodbye. She was born on November 9, 1919 in Loganton, PA o
a farm along Bull Run that is now known as the Harry Meyers farm. Sh
e was the granddaughter of Washington and Minnie Troutner and the daug
hter of the late Torrence Miller and Nettie (Troutner) Miller. Later P
arepa moved to Tylersville, PA. She attended the Evangelical church i
Tylersville, which has been torn down. Parepa graduated from the Log
anton Sugar Valley High School. She worked at Piper Aircraft during Wo
ld War II. On November 15, 1945, she married Robert I. Bierly, a vete
an of the war. Parepa served Walker Township as tax collector for sev
eral years. She enjoyed crocheting but her first love was spending tim
e with her family. Parepa was a member of the United Church of Chris
t in Hublersburg and participated in the Women's Guild. She was als
o a member of the Pennsylvania Tax Collectors' Association. Parepa i
s survived by two children: a daughter, Diana Bierly Watson and her hu
sband Donald of Hublersburg, son William M. Bierly and his wife Lauree
of Mechanicsburg, PA. She has four grandchildren, Jennifer Watson Sh
uey, Steven Watson, Andrea Bierly Barnes, and Corey Bierly, and five g
eat grandchildren: Alina and Kira Watson, Matthew and Joseph Bierly a
d Ian Barnes, two sisters: Jean Miller Strouse of Lamar, and Patrici
a Miller Zimmerman and her husband Harold of Nittany. Parepa was bless
ed with many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all that knew h
er. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded by one so
, David and his wife Charlotte and three brothers, Ardell, Kermit, an
d Vincent. There will be a public visitation held on Friday, Novembe
25, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Sprin
g Street, Bellefonte and also prior to the funeral service at 10:00 a
m Saturday. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 20
16 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Reverend James Schomer officia
ting. Burial will follow in Zion Union Cemetery, Bellefonte, PA 16823
