Lock Haven , Ilene Mary Barner, 72, of 293 S. Jones St., died Monday
, April 3, 2000, at home after an extended illness.
She and her husband, Walter C. Barner, Jr., observed their 50th weddin
g anniversary on June 26.
She had worked for the former Lock Haven Laundry for many years and wa
s a homemaker.
She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church and was a Sunda
y School teacher for many years.
She was a 1945 graduate of Sugar Valley High School in Loganton and at
tended the former Wheaton Business School in Williamsport.
She enjoyed crocheting and spending time at camps in Rosecrans and Can
ada.
Born Feb. 13, 1928, in Greenburr, she was a daughter of Ellis R. and E
dna Stamm Lesher.
Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, Stephen Eric of Lyken; a br
other, Glenn Lesher of Loganton; a sister, Anita L. Currin of Birmingh
am, AL; and six grandchildren.
She was proceded in death by a twin sister, Irene M. Weaver, in 1982.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church, 44 W. Main St.
, with the Rev. James VanZandt officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Plea
sant Cemetery.
Friends may call at Yost-Gedon’s, 121 W. Main St., from 7 to 9 p.m. We
dnesday. The family will provide the flowers.
