Gail Barner
Gail Ruth Barner of Fishing Creek Valley, Harrisburg, passed away peac
efully December 18, 2013 at the University Of Pittsburgh Medical Cente
from complications of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Born November 2
5, 1951 in Lewistown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Patrick A
. & Ruth (Himes) Guerrini.
Gail worked for the PA Dept. Of Revenue, where she met her husband Par
k and later retired from the Pa Dept. Of Agriculture as a Computer Sys
tems Analyst Supervisor. She graduated from Lewistown-Granville High S
chool in 1970; volunteered at the Central PA Food Bank & the Dauphin C
ounty Library System; was a member of Penbrook United Church Of Chris
t where she served on the church alter, communion, spirituality/worshi
p, visitation & prayer chain committees and will be sadly missed by al
l who knew and loved her.
Gail is survived by her husband of 33 years, Park I. Barner Jr, whom s
he loved dearly, her sister Diane Shaefer of Burnham, PA, brothers Rog
er Guerrini of Glen Burnie, MD, & Steven Guerrini of Waynesboro, VA
, a special nephew raised as a brother, Dale Guerrini of Sedalia, MO
, a long time sister in friendship, Connie Elias of New Cumberland, P
A & many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grand nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Gail's life will be held at Penbrook U
ited Church Of Christ, 56 Banks Street in Penbrook on Saturday, Decem
ber 28 with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the memorial servic
e at 11:00 a.m. There will be a luncheon to follow and everyone is inv
ited to enjoy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in memor
