Mary L. Barner (Walsh), died peacefully with her family around her o
Tuesday, June 17 at the age of 93 years young. Mary was born Octobe
25, 1920 in Rensselaer, NY to John and Anna Walsh. She attended Bles
sed Sacrament Grade School and graduated high school from Vicentian In
stitute. Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband, John Barner. The
y enjoyed 60 plus year together and raised six children. Mary and Joh
enjoyed many shared interests, camping, skiing, and traveling extens
ively. They could never pass up a museum or point of interest marker o
a road. They were never afraid to take the road less traveled. Mar
y was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and fri
end. She made a warm and loving home for her family and friends. Late
in life, she was very proud of being the manager for Mothercare in C
olonie Center. Mary was a very devoted Catholic and she enjoyed attend
ing daily mass with her prayer group at St. Claire's Church, a loyal g
oup of people that brought her great comfort. After John's death, Mar
y moved in with her daughter Annmarie's family where she lived for th
e last 12 years of her life. She joined St. Pius the X parish in Loudo
ville. The last months of her life were spent with her daughter Maggi
e's family. She became an important part of daily life for both famili
es attending Mass, following the Yankees and watching her grandchild a
d great-grandchildren grow up.
Mary is predeceased by her sister Maggie Alexander and her brother Jer
emiah Walsh. She is also predeceased by her son, Thomas W. Barner. Mar
y is survived by Tom's widow, Mary Murphy of Neshanic Station, NJ, he
son John C. (Pat) Barner of Evansville, Indiana, her daughter Annmar
ie (Ray) Perechinsky of Loudonville, NY, her son Karl (Mary) Barner o
f Marcellus, NY, her daughter Maggie (Joe Woods) Barner of Cicero, N
Y and her daughter Donna (Brian) Perlee of St. Petersburg, FL, 14 gran
dchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mary on Monday Jun
e 23rd at 9:30 a.m. at St. Pius X, Loudonville. Calling hours for Mar
y will be Sunday June 22nd from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the St. Piu
s X Chapel. Entombment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery.
